How do I know what scope a database has?

Answer

The clinicians database page provides a brief description of each database: https://musc.libguides.com/clinical/journals

To put it simply:
  • PubMed: Clinical biomedicine database
. ~28 million references.
  • Scopus: Health/social/life sciences database. Includes all of MEDLINE and Embase. ~70 million references.
  • CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature): Nursing and allied health database

. ~4 million references.
  • PsycINFO: Psychology and behavioral sciences database
. ~4 million references.

The library subscribes to other databases, but the ones above are our most popular.
